TECHNOLOGY

We pursue safe and reliable
quality, and give it form.

We collect used plastic bottles from the market and recycle them into familiar items of daily living.

The recycling process

The manufacture of recycled PET resin can be broadly divided into two processes. One is the process of removing extraneous materials such as labels and caps from collected plastic bottles, which are then shredded to make a material called flake. The other process is that of making the resin that serves as the raw material for PET bottles. After the flake is melted and formed, the PET is placed in a nitrogen-filled tower reactor for an extended period of decontamination, during which harmful chemical substances that have penetrated into it are evaporated. These are the two processes through which PET resin is made.

Flake

Designed for the food market, our cleaning and shredding process produces high-purity flake.
After thorough sorting and removal of all substances other than PET bottles from the input material, alkaline cleaning is performed to transform it into clean flake.
In addition to the food products market, the material has a wide range of applications including textiles. We provide high-quality flake products that meet the needs of our customers and all PET materials markets.

Resin

Recycled PET resin suitable for food applications must meet the same quality requirements as new PET resin, such as stable material properties and absence of harmful substances. We use the world's highest class of decontamination technologies and processes to remove toxic substances*1 to the maximum possible degree. In addition, we use equipment capable of high-precision measurement to implement thorough quality control, and can adjust the properties of the material according to customers' wishes.

*1: We conduct inspections using a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) in accordance with our in-house inspection regulations to certify that our products do not contain hazardous substances.

Co-creating R-PET business

We are seeking suppliers that can furnish bales of raw material, and companies that can purchase our products as partners.
Please contact our Raw Materials Procurement Department or Sales Department using the contact form below to inquire about purchasing products or supplying raw materials.

The first uniform manufacturing process in Japan for mechanical Bottle to Bottle recycling

Used PET bottles are collected, flaked and converted into resin. Our company is the first to have established this series of processes in Japan.
We believe that in order to manufacture high-quality recycled PET resin, it is necessary to secure good raw materials and thoroughly control all processes.
In addition, there is seasonal variation in the types of used plastic bottles, with more heat-resistant plastic bottles available during winter, for instance.
Our technological capabilities include the ability to optimize the recycling processes in response to these factors.

About food product safety assurance for FIGP products
(recycled PET resin)

In recent years, awareness of food safety has increased in Japan and around the world.
We believe that our prime task in supporting food product safety is to provide quality high enough that consumers can feel at ease drinking directly from PET beverage bottles.

01Meeting strict decontamination requirement standards

The standards required by Japanese beverage manufacturers for decontamination generally exceed those required by official certification bodies in other countries, such as the FDA and EFSA.
Our decontamination processing with state-of-the-art equipment has been proven to meet even higher standards than required by beverage manufacturers.
By producing highly safe recycled resins that can rival virgin materials, we contribute to peace of mind in daily living.

02Compliance with Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) guidelines

The recyclable PET bottles we procure as raw materials comply with the Guidelines for the Use of Recycled Plastic Materials*1 administered by the MHLW. We use only Class 1 products (i.e., plastic containers and packaging that have been produced by companies and which have not been placed on the market, such as scrap materials collected from the product manufacturing process) and Class 2 products (containers that have been placed on the market and then sorted and collected in accordance with regulations).
*1: In Japan, the numerical values specified in regulations on contaminants in containers and packaging are the same as those of the U.S. FDA standard, and are indicated in the Guidelines for the Use of Recycled Plastic Materials in Food Utensils, Containers and Packaging administered by the MHLW.

03Using raw materials with low contamination risk

The raw materials we use conform to the food product applications specified in the Guidelines for the Use of Recycled Plastic Materials administered by the MHLW. We believe that we can provide recycled PET resin that customers can use with confidence.
